Photo: Zach Williams/Runnin' On Scuffs Looking for a Watch Justin Seger 2025 is in full swing.  The holidays have come and gone and with it so has the racing offseason.  In less than two weeks, we will see the return of the NASCAR Cup Series to Bowman Gray with the Busch Light Clash.  But that has not stopped some of the familiar faces of the sport from getting on the track in 2025.  Last weekend, Kyle Larson got his third "Golden Driller" trophy in the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals.  That event saw fellow NASCAR drivers Christopher Bell, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Kyle Busch, and Josh Bilicki compete in Tulsa. Photo: Runnin' On Scuffs Breaking the Rules Down: A Look Into NASCAR's 2025 Rules Package By: Justin Seger Yesterday, NASCAR released some annual provisions to its everchanging rulebook.  Prior to the beginning on each season, NASCAR will provide provisions to the rulebook.  These are usually aimed at making the sport more competitive for teams and entertaining for fans.  Rules are ever changing in the sport and sometimes they go relatively unnoticed by the community.  However, in today's article I am going to go over a few of the changes that might change the game for the 2025 season. Race Manipulation/OEM Penalties Perhaps the most notable change to NASCAR's rule book is the changing of the wording around what used to be known as the "100% Rule."  Now, NASCAR has chosen to remove the "100%" wording in that rule and replace it with "manipulation".  This is something that clearly needed to be worked on, especially following the results of N...

Josh Berry Joins Wood Brothers Racing in 2025

  Photo: Justin Seger (Runnin' On Scuffs) In an announcement on Wednesday morning, Wood Brothers Racing announced that Josh Berry will join the team to drive the #21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in 2025. Josh Berry, currently driving at Stewart-Haas Racing, found himself without a ride for next season after SHR announced they were shutting down operations at the end of the 2024 season.  Fellow SHR teammate, Chase Briscoe, announced his plans to take over the #19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025, replacing the retiring Martin Truex Jr.  Berry is currently in his first full-time season at the NASCAR Cup level.  He currently sits 19th in the Regular Season standings and 20th in regards to the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Picture.  Berry has two Top-5 and four Top-10 finishes after 19 races into the season.  Berry made a handful of Cup starts in 2023, filling in for Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman.  In ten starts, Berry manage...

Hocevar Penalized for Nashville Incident

  Photo: Justin Seger (Runnin' On Scuffs) NASCAR penalizes Carson Hocevar, driver of the #77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports for violating the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct during Sunday's running of the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway.  The penalty comes after an incident between Hocevar and Harrison Burton, driver of the #21 Wood Brother Racing Ford. On lap 242 of Sunday's race, Hocevar deliberately right hooked Burton under caution.  The field had slowed to caution pace after Brad Keselowski spun into the wall after contact with Austin Dillon. Carson Hocevar was fined $50K and docked 25 drivers and owners points by NASCAR.  This penalty is the equivalent to a penalty that William Byron received for getting into Denny Hamlin at Texas Motor Speedway in 2022. Hocevar finished the Ally 400 16th after the race that ended with a record five overtime attempts.  The penalty drops Hocevar from 22nd to 24th in the regular season points standings.  He currently...

William Byron Wins Daytona 500

  The Boston Globe William Byron opens up the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season with a win in the Daytona 500.  The race was delayed a day due to weather.  Byron beat out his teammate, Alex Bowman, to the line after a caution occurred just after the field had taken the white flag.  The race did not have an official overtime finish.  Hendrick driver, Chase Elliott, along with defending Cup Series Champion, Ryan Blaney, earned stage wins in the Great American Race.  The official finishing results of the 66th Annual Daytona 500 are below: 1. Nick Sanchez Wins Trucks Opener at Daytona

  Photo: Speed Sport Nick Sanchez earned his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win Friday night in the Fresh From Florida 250.  Sanchez is entering his second full-time season in the Truck series driving for Rev Racing.  He managed to earn a playoff spot in 2023, but couldn't get the elusive win.  He kicked off the 2024 season earning that first win in a caution filled race at Daytona.  Sanchez led 26 laps during the race, the most of any driver throughout the night.  The full finishing order of the Fresh From Florida 250 is below: 1. 2024 Daytona 500 Lineup Set

  Photo: Runnin' On Scuffs After Thursday's Bluegreen Vacations duel races at Daytona, the 2024 Daytona 500 lineup is set!  For the first time since 2012, the front row is full of Fords.  Joey Logano earned Team Penske their first Pole award in the Great American Race.  Michael McDowell joins him on the front row of the season opening race for the NASCAR Cup Series. The second row is full of Toyotas as the Toyota camp swept both duel races with Tyler Reddick and Christopher Bell respectively.  The full lineup for the 2024 Daytona 500 is below: 1.
