Alex Bowman Wins Pole for 2023 Daytona 500

Alex Bowman captured his 3rd Pole in the Daytona 500 Wednesday Night.  The pole award was the eighth for team owner, Rick Hendrick, in the last nine seasons.  Bowman had a lap time of 49.536, nearly two tenths of a second faster than his teammate, Kyle Larson, in second.  Bowman and Larson are locked into their starting positions barring any inspection issues or having to go to a backup car.  Jimmie Johnson and Travis Pastrana have locked themselves into the Daytona 500 with their qualifying speeds.
